About the Founder
My name is Lucy (Lucy is my nickname). I am a Tennessee-licensed massage therapist and a naturalised United States citizen, originally from China.
Before coming to the U.S., I spent 10 years working in acupuncture in China and previously served at the Acupuncture Clinic of Guangzhou Medical University. I have lived in the United States for nearly 20 years, and Knoxville, Tennessee has been my home throughout this time.
My education includes studies in Linguistics at Pellissippi State Community College, Radiologic Technology at Roane State Community College, and Massage Therapy at Arbor College – School of Massage. With many years of experience in the wellness and massage industry, Vichy Shower Spa is the second spa I have founded and operated.

The Vichy shower is a unique form of hydrotherapy in which warm streams of water flow gently over the body while the guest relaxes on a specialised table. In the United States, Vichy showers have been part of the spa and thermal wellness industry for over 30 years, particularly since the early 1990s, and are widely featured in luxury resorts and high-end day spas. Originating in France, the Vichy shower is considered a signature treatment in premium spa culture.
A Vision for Knoxville
Knoxville is my second hometown. I deeply love its natural beauty and, even more, the warmth of its people. I am passionate about giving back to the community and introducing a refined and meaningful wellness lifestyle to local residents.
With this goal in mind, I researched numerous major cities and explored a wide range of spa and wellness concepts. My original vision was to create a large-scale bathing, dining, and leisure complex. However, after carefully considering current economic realities and the availability of specialised professionals in the local market, I chose to focus on the Vichy shower experience.
While Vichy Shower Spa is intentionally boutique in size, it holds strong potential to grow into a premier, high-end wellness and relaxation destination.

To personally experience a true Vichy shower, I once drove more than three hours. Today, I am proud to bring this exceptional treatment right here to Knoxville, so our community can enjoy it without traveling long distances.
The Vichy shower combines hydrotherapy, massage, and full-body skin care into one deeply restorative experience. Because this treatment is still unfamiliar to many local massage therapists and estheticians, I have invested significant time and energy into professional training and team development.
Over two years of research, followed by more than six months of spa construction and staff training, have gone into preparing Vichy Shower Spa. My goal is to offer every guest an experience that reflects excellence, professionalism, warmth, and attentive care.
